A Crochet Doodle so beautiful that we simply could not resist sharing with you!
Initially, this project was meant to keep our Stephanie (the face of It's Crochet O'Clock fame) busy during her weekly lives. A couple of blankets meant for her grandbabies, the resulting works of art have inspired many crocheters all over the world!
The name Yaya's Hugs was picked by Stephanie's subscribers. Many of us crochet, knit or weave our hopes, prayers and emotions into our crafted projects- this blanket is no different! Stephanie explains:
"Each time I make something for my family 1500 miles away I pray over it so that the item will help them. When they are sad they can cuddle up in it. When they miss me, they can wrap it around them. When they are happy, they may even glance at it and allow their thoughts of me to participate in their happiness."
Re-worked in our best-selling Nurturing Fibres' Eco-Fusion Yarn, this blended DK weight yarn made from Cotton and Bamboo is the perfect choice for drape, durability and color saturation.
The central portion is worked in simple granny squares. Once these are joined, you embark on the adventure that is the border. Intricate enough to keep a seasoned crocheter interested, yet accessible for the adventurous beginner.
The kits are available in three color ways. Stephanie combined the recently launched speckled colors with solids for the main body of the blanket.
Raiden Sandstone and Fawn
Brantly Raindrops & Baltic
Savannah Savannah & Patina
The kit consists of 11 balls of ECO-FUSION in a solid color, and 4 balls of Eco-Fusion in a speckled color.
